Forest Skills Hub
Forest Skills Hub is a place for children and young people to explore the natural environment and all it has to offer. Forest Skills is open to children and young people from 4 years to 18 years old. We hope to awaken the imagination through fun, creative activities and workshops in our outdoor space.

At Forest Skills Hub based at Preston, East Riding of Yorkshire, we are lucky to have a wild space where students can be safe but experience risks and challenges such as den building, fire making and using tools. Forest Skills Hub also enjoys having a large indoor and outdoor growing space where students can learn to grow their own produce and learn the process from seed to table. We aim to give something back to the community by growing and providing local food bank sand students' families with fresh, organic fruit and vegetables

At Forest Skills Hub we will be working on projects from a wildlife garden to explore and be amongst, a sensory garden where fresh aromatic plants can be picked, dried and used for aromatherapy workshops, an allotment plot plus greenhouse space, ponds for dipping and finding a sense for adventure through our outdoor 'bush craft' activities. Our students will be working towards an AQA qualification portfolio, gaining pride in their achievements as they learn.

Our team bring a wealth of experience to Forest Skills Hub, from therapeutic and outdoor skills, to a nurturing approach with the student at the core of our focus. We hope to build on confidence and resilience, allowing the free child to take centre stage and build in self-belief.
Hi I am Nicci.

Outside of work you will find me out in the great outdoors, finding adventure in nature anything from hiking, open water swimming to nurturing my beloved allotment where I keep my rescue chickens and grow organic vegetables and beautiful cut flowers. I am an avid tree climber; however, I have also been known to get stuck! I have a love for life and a strong interest in keeping a healthy mind and body, I am a qualified yoga teacher, herbalist and aromatherapist, I really enjoy bringing these skills to life at Life Skills Hub.

Being able to help and support our children and young people at Life Skills Hub gives me a warm heart. Life Skills Hub recognises that we are all different, have different needs, and require unique support. It gives me great joy to say that I work for a company that understands, listens and has empathy for the families we work with.

I lead our outdoor provision, Forest Skills Hub and Holiday Activity programme, I have my dream job! My passion and knowledge of the great outdoors allows me to pass on and develop skills of our children and young people. Teaching bushcraft skills and allowing the children and young people to take risks, understanding nature and working with the natural cycle of the seasons is something I am very passionate about.
Hi, I'm Tasha, Director and Specialist Wellbeing Manager at Life Skills Hub Limited. On a day to day basis I am responsible for a number of exciting things with running the company but what I love to do is be out and about working very closely with James, Nicci and John who head up the Therapeutic Centre, Employability and Forest Skills.

My specialism is in working with young people with autism and anxiety/depression. I focus on delivering 1-1 specialist sessions with children and young people with complex social/emotional mental health needs mostly in the community but I am lucky enough to have worked with some of our young people for long enough that they have progressed to either our Employability service or I have helped them transition into their next step. It is so exciting to see young people flourish and spread their wings.

My passion is health and wellbeing, I am trained in mindfulness and it ’s a technique I use myself every day. In my spare time you will find me walking, running, or cycling. I love a challenge and pair this with focusing on raising money for children's charities in my spare time, some of these exciting things include abseiling and wing walking! I love the ethos of placing a child or young person at the centre of the work we do, and Life Skills Hub achieves that time and time again.
Hi I am Emma. I am passionate about spending quality time with my family and we share many interests together. I have shown my children how to grow their own vegetables and then we enjoy trying out new recipes with our homegrown produce. I enjoy going to music concerts, camping and walking our dog(Fred) exploring the countryside and I love all forms of art and crafting.

When I need to take time to relax and treat myself to some self-care I like to listen to music, draw or curl up on the couch and watch a good movie. I have great motivation to work at Life Skills Hub to help support young people to develop and improve their social and emotional well-being. I am a friendly, positive person with a nurturing nature and take great pride in helping others. At school I was bullied and suffered emotionally because of this, there was no support for me at this time so I learnt to be very resilient and create a successful, happy life for myself and my children and I like to share my skills and knowledge and life experiences to help others.

I have experience working with young people across a wide age range as a qualified teaching assistant, I have worked with full school classes, small groups and 1-1 delivering support for social and emotional needs including anxiety and attachment difficulties along with other special needs. Previous to that I qualified as a horse-riding instructor and taught children and adults and RDA (riding for the disabled). I have always found working with young people very rewarding.
