Forest Skills Hub
Forest Skills Hub is a provision for children and young people to explore the neutral environment and all it has to offer

We are very proud to be an active partner in the HOPE allotment regeneration project of the North Hull Estate/HU6 Area. The HOPE allotment is located on Thorpe Park Road, in Hull. Previously, the site was not used, and is part of the old school site for Sir Henry Cooper School.
In collaboration with Humberside Police, Orchard Park Postcode Gardener, Hull City Council, Sirius North, Thorpe Park Primary, Safer Hull, Hull YJS, VIY, Hull City Wide and EMS – Life Skills Hub young people and our Forest Skills Lead, work together to establish several areas for the community to benefit from.
These include: nature walks, forest skills area, habitat areas, vegetation plots, memorial garden, wildlife ponds, and a classroom for outdoor activities. The collaboration works really well, and our young people receive several outdoor learning opportunities while helping to improve their local environment.
Life Skills Hub have developed dedicated plots for LSH young people to maintain, including a large allotment raised bed.
Our Forest Skills Keyworker provides in-depth knowledge, support and guidance to improve our students’ knowledge, whilst developing practical skills in a therapeutic environment.
Our young people also learn while earning qualifications, skills, and experience that will enable them to live fulfilling and enriched lives as independent learners.
The site has been transformed from its original state, an overgrown and neglected area, into a vibrant community space teeming with wildlife and nature.
Many of our students have transitioned to new pursuits. after leaving us to follow their in a range of related career areas and studies.
